Dear users,
In order to ensure a high-quality experience for all users, CoinW Futures has adjusted the upper and lower limits of the funding rate of U-margined perpetual futures from 16:00 on June 13, 2025 (UTC +8).
Taking the BTCUSDT perpetual futures as an example, its funding rate cap/floor will be +0.3% / -0.3%, and funding is settled every 8 hours. For all other USDT-margined perpetual futures, the adjusted funding rate limits are as follows:
Funding rates are designed to keep the price of perpetual futures contracts aligned with the spot market price of the underlying asset. These rates are exchanged directly between traders. CoinW simply facilitates the process between long and short position holders.
When the funding rate is positive, long position holders pay shorts.
When the rate is negative, short position holders pay longs.
The amount paid is calculated based on the notional value of the position and the applicable funding rate.
Funding rates are subject to change depending on market conditions.
During periods of low volatility, funding rates tend to be very low.
During periods of high volatility, they may reach their upper or lower limits.
In extreme market conditions, funding rates may exceed the maintenance margin rate. Since funding fees are deducted directly from a user’s margin, we strongly recommend monitoring your positions and available margin to avoid margin calls or forced liquidation.
Funding settlements occur every 8 hours at 08:00, 16:00, and 00:00 (UTC+8).
Thank you for your continued support of CoinW futures.
